Interventional Pain Procedures are part of a comprehensive pain treatment program encompassing a true Pain Medicine Practice. Interventional procedures therefore are balanced with a combination of pharmacologic treatments, physical therapy, exercise therapy, wellness-preventive medicine, cognitive behavioral therapy along with biofeedback when deemed appropriate.
Dr. Alarcon has experience with all forms of procedures from nerve blocks to implantation of spinal cord stimulators. The appropriate intervention is recommended after a thorough review of the patient's health history and detailed physical exam are performed.
Every aspect of a procedure from the preparatory phase to information pertaining to risks and benefits and to the recovery phase are thoroughly reviewed with you by Dr. Alarcon. He will go to great efforts to make you comfortable and anxiety free during the procedure process.
Non-Invasive Pain Management pertains to all aspects of pain care that are not invasive in nature. Pharmacologic treatment, physical and exercise therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and biofeedback are in non-invasive Pain Medicine modalities.
